I've set my chilli.conf to have
interval 60
to reread dns and reload config every minute. Normally this isn't a big problem, but in a couple of places this operation takes up to 6 or 7 seconds, and during this period ALL the traffic is interrupted!
So if a user is on a skype conversation or watching a video or whatever, every minute the connection is shut for a relevant amount of time.

And this is happening only at this place.

Using local dns cache cut down that time to the half, but still I have a 3s gap which I'm not experiencing on all the other installations.

Any idea what can cause this?

I want to set up a captive portal ChilliSpot with DDWRT firmware on WRT54GL router LYNKSIS.

All goes well and it works perfectly.
Or the I have a problem and I now want to offer my CAPTIVE PORTAL in several languages including English, German, Spanish, etc ...

No problem to select a language and see the captive portal, but where it will go over is when you try to connect I lose systematically the variable "$ lang" when I pass through the router WRT54GL (DDWRT) .

When I said this in my DDWRT varaible "http://monserveurip.com/hotspotlogin.php?lang = $ lang" or "http://monserveurip.com/hotspotlogin.php?lang = $ _GET ['lang']" It does not work.

Since I spend my server although the variable "$ lang" but I can not treat for DDWRT.
I also lost the variable "$ challenge" and the rest.

PLEASE HELP: how to retrieve the variable $ LANG and $ CHALLENGE from DDWRT??

I tried to install the package IPGK but impossible to install;((((((

I'm [still] using Chillispot, but I guess the problem could be unrelated to the client.
I'm experiencing problems with password encoding. I use GoLogin PHP login page, which works "mostly".

Now I have a very busy NAS which causes me troubles with a lot of failed logins. I invesigated long time on the radius server, but it seems that the problem is on the client side, since the password decoded by radius is wrong, as spotted in this debug line:

        User-Name = "MYUSERNAME"
        User-Password = "\002\234\350v[z\035Y\237\257\354\245\326\213\305."

I was obviously suggested that the secret is wrong, but I double checked and it's correct, in fact most (half?) of the logins are done correctly. Yet, many of them fail because the password is wrongly encoded.
How is it possible that the same login page generates a wrong password?

I tried configuring another nas with the same parameters, and logins are performed correctly, even with the credentials which just went wrong on the previous hotspot.

I don't know what could be wrong, any ideas?

My settings in chilli.conf
net    192.168.182.0/24
dynip 192.168.182.0/25
statip 192.168.182.128/25

I still need static IP's, no problems changing them there's only about 25. Just not sure how it should be done.
I know changing net 192.168.182.0/20 instead of /24 gives me 4093 dynip but I still need static ip's.

what is the best way to go about this?

Cable<-->Office Lan <--> Chilli <---> North Side VDSL <--> South VDSL             (North VDSL has 14 AP's South has 18 AP's)

I have configured DVR's to work on the INTIF side and we have access to them. This works fine, but we have 1 that can not get VDSL to it. Ideally I should be able to put a wireless bridge between one of the AP's and the DVR. However DHCP is then lost. If I hook my laptop to it after being connected it will then use a preferred IP and connect to net as expected. I can communicate with the AP that is used for the bridge, but can not get DHCP to follow through the wireless bridge.

Anybody had to use this type scenario?

My next idea is use OPEN VPN on  the AP that is used for the bridge. Has anybody tried this?

Now we made some efforts to clean the forums and added some security features which - i hope - will dramatically reduce spam posts.

Debian Squeeze and Wheezy are here and work fine with freeradius/chillispot.

I have just apt-get them
for chillispot just add the sid deb in sources list, update install it and remove the sid deb after.
after install just upload your old conf files from previous versions and it work.

My last Cyber-hotel iso is based on Squeeze and work just fine.

I have just got some problems with Squid configuration as last version have many change
with ACL conf, but if you don't need to log trafic you don't need squid.
